Lost in War

Alone and stranded, gun in hand, lost in a war, in desert sand.

Unknown purpose, why I’m here, facing life, living in fear.

Yet somehow, as time does pass, I find some tranquil, peace at last.

At night the chill, is bitter cold, until the day starts to unfold.

With heat that scorches all around, burns sand white hot upon the ground.

The sun beats down, upon the head, perspiration seems forced fed.

Yet somehow in this land of heat, a certain peace I’ve come to meet.

Uncertain of the things to follow, the truth to come is hard to swallow.

From a normal life, where I knew the score, to now a place, I’m lost in war.........
